Proverbs 27:6 A friend you can trust is a priceless treasure. So consider yourself very wealthy if you have a trustworthy friend, and never take the friendship for granted. This kind of friend is: * Honest. They'll be kind, but won't dish out flattery in order to hold on to your friendship. In turn, a real friend will listen to you when you speak the truth in love, and will accept constructive criticism, even when it hurts. * Reliable. They'll not stab you in the back or spread gossip about you. An authentic friend puts your interests ahead of their own. They don't act out of selfish motives but out of genuine concern for your well-being. Wouldn't it be great to have a friend like that? There are others who only appear to be your friend. They spend time with you for what they receive instead of what they give. They tell you what they think you want to hear instead of what you need to hear. They have ulterior motives for being your friend, motives you can't trust. These are the kinds of friends to avoid! In all of your friendships, strive to treat the other person the way you'd like to be treated. Be the best friend you can be, and let God worry about what you'll get in return for your kindness. What drew you to the friends you have now?
